1563-1639 Italian Orazio Gentileschi Galleries Tuscan painter, b. Pisa. His real surname was Lomi, but he adopted his uncle name. He studied in Rome, where he was associated with Agostino Tassi in the decoration of palace interiors. Influenced by Caravaggio, Gentileschi developed a more softly luminous light and a cooler, more lyrical style. He also painted frescoes in Santa Maria Maggiore and in the Lateran. After spending several years in Genoa and in France, he settled in England (1626) at the invitation of Charles I. Gentileschi principal works include The Annunciation (San Siro, Genoa); Flight into Egypt (Louvre); Sibyl (Hampton Court, England); and Moses Saved from the Waters (Prado). He also painted numerous portraits. Italian Early Renaissance Painter, 1474-1515 Italian painter. Albertinelli's contribution to the Florentine High Renaissance was inspired by the work of FRA BARTOLOMMEO, and the two artists worked together in a partnership, their paintings appearing to be the product of a single hand. Albertinelli, however, always retained artistic independence, as is revealed in certain paintings that are eccentrically archaic and in others that show a preference for conventions more typical of the early Renaissance.

Giuseppe Grisoni
bapt. October 24, 1699 - 1769) was a Flemish/ Italian painter and sculptor, noted for his landscapes and historical tableaux. Born in Mons, he studied in Florence under Tommaso Redi, abandoning his Flemish influences for the Italian tradition. In 1715 he travelled to London with John Talman and tried to establish himself as a portrait painter. One of his pupils was William Hoare (1707-1792)
